Toothpaste

One of the very first "cosmetic" products that I am interested in researching is toothpaste. I've heard a lot of controversial things about fluoride. While researching the subject, I was astounded to learn that fluoride is actually poisoness in large doses. While fluoride is technically a natural compound (derived from rocks and soils in which water has passed through), it's not something that you want to ingest. I was pretty shocked to learn that in the November 2008 issue of Journal of the American Dental Association, they disclosed that there was no actual sufficient evidence to say that fluoride can prevent tooth decay, and that it can cause yellowing of the teeth, as well as white spotting. Now, I don't actually know for certain if it was caused by this or not, but I had severe yellow spotting of my two top front teeth when I was a kid, severe enough to have veneers placed over top of them to hide the problem. I also constantly have white spots appearing and disappearing on my teeth. I think I will definately be checking out some organic toothpastes, trying out different kinds and reporting on what's worth it and what isn't. This will probably span over a couple of months as I'm too cheap to splurge on a whole bunch on them at once (and I think my husband would be rather pissed off LOL)
